Several features originally planned to be included in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis were scrapped, most likely due to time constraints. One of these features included breeding, allowing dinosaurs to populate the island without the player needing to use hatcheries.
Shortly after the game's release Blue Tongue actually planned to release an expansion pack containing additional content, such as aquatic and airborne animals, new structures, and the ability to build waterfalls. However, the expansion pack was cancelled for unknown reasons.
If the player looks through the game's files, they can clearly see that most of the content present in the proposed expansion pack are already present in an incomplete state. It is possible the expansion pack would have added content that the developers were unable to include in the game's initial release
